The German authorities have tightened visa restrictions for citizens of the Russian Federation. Now you need to provide an extract from a bank operating in the European Union as a financial guarantee.

It is noted that when applying for a visa, a Russian citizen must confirm that he has enough funds to stay in the Schengen area.
"Only up-to-date statements issued in the applicant's name from a verifiable bank operating in EU Member States may be accepted for consideration. The document must include information on the current amount of funds in the accounts. The applicant must provide relevant bank statements for the last three months ", - indicated in the requirements for issuing a visa.
This requirement applies to the issuance of all types of visas.
- Nine European countries, namely Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands, no longer accept documents for tourist visas from Russian citizens.
