On Sunday, Federal Minister for Development of Germany, Svenja Schulze, announced a review of financial aid to Palestine in light of the terrorist group Hamas's attack on Israeli territory.

This information was reported by n-tv.

Schulze explained that the funds previously allocated for assistance to Palestine have been nearly exhausted, and as a result, 'no payments are currently being made.' The question of further support will be discussed in the context of recent events.

'These attacks on Israel are a terrible rupture. Therefore, we will examine our entire interaction with the Palestinian territories,' noted the minister.

According to the Federal Republic of Germany's Ministry of Development, Germany is one of the largest donors to the Palestinian territories, committing to allocate 125 million euros for 2023-2024, not including funding for non-governmental organizations and the UN.

The department clarified that this pertains not to direct aid to Palestine but rather to the funding of specific humanitarian projects, such as providing water supply or medical assistance, which often align with the interests of Israel.

As a reminder, on Saturday morning, the terrorist group Hamas launched a large-scale attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, marking the most significant escalation in the Arab-Israeli conflict in the last 50 years. According to the latest information, over 500 people have lost their lives due to the actions of Hamas.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a counterterrorism operation called "Operation Iron Swords" and initiated the shelling of infrastructure in the Gaza Strip
