Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Lubinets, hopes that this year's UN report will confirm Russia's proven involvement in the Olenivka terrorist attack. He stated this at a press conference.

"We already had a report on the first anniversary of the tragedy. At that time, the UN legally recognized that Ukraine could not have carried out this shelling with HIMARS missiles. Now we are waiting for the next step: if Ukraine could not do this, then Russia did it in a certain way, with a certain type of missile. All data are available to experts, including international ones. I sincerely hope that this year, by the second anniversary of this tragedy, we will finally receive a UN report where everything will be investigated, established, and publicly shown," Lubinets said.

He reminded that after the tragedy, the UN formed a special mission to investigate. However, the mission was closed in January 2023.

"We continue to demand that the UN gain access to Olenivka and provide a legal assessment of this tragedy," Lubinets emphasized.

On the night of July 29, 2022, Russia committed a terrorist act by detonating an explosion in a barracks of a correctional colony in Olenivka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were held. At least 50 defenders of Azovstal were killed in the incident.
