In Finland, due to strikes, defense industry enterprises that produce ammunition for Ukraine may come to a halt for two days.
According to reports by Yle, strikes are expected to take place at four Nammo factories involved in the production of ammunition and gunpowder. The CEO of the company, Raimo Helasmäki, believes that the planned protests on February 1 and 2 may affect the supply of arms to Ukraine.
"The stoppage and the return to the design capacity of the factory producing nitrocellulose in Vihtavuori, which produces powder, will take more than two days," Helasmäki stated.
The head of Nammo also added that the factories do not directly supply ammunition to Ukraine, but the Finnish Defense Forces purchase them, and then the exported arms go to Ukraine. There are 450 employees at Nammo factories, and around 350 employees plan to join the strikes.
At the same time, the Finnish Ministry of Defense claims that the suspension of the enterprises' work will not affect the quantity or quality of deliveries to Ukraine.
It is reported that the industrial union previously announced extensive strikes that will affect several industries. Approximately 60,000 people will participate in nationwide actions. The reason for the strike is the government's labor market reform program.
