In Mykolaiv, Russian drones damaged a thermal power plant, leaving 46,000 subscribers without heating

As a result of a nighttime Russian attack on Mykolaiv, the Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant was damaged, leaving 46,000 subscribers without heating.

This was reported by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych on Telegram, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, the State Emergency Service of Mykolaiv region on Facebook.

"Tonight, Russian forces deliberately targeted Mykolaiv's critical infrastructure. Enemy UAVs damaged the city's thermal power plant. This was done intentionally to leave people without heating in freezing temperatures and create a humanitarian catastrophe. Currently, 46,000 subscribers are without heat supply."

 

According to him, all relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack and are doing everything possible to restore heating to homes, schools, and hospitals as soon as possible.

In the city, 67 resilience points have already been deployed, and work has begun to connect three modular boiler houses in healthcare facilities.

Heating is absent in 760 residential buildings, 27 preschools, 39 schools, and 20 healthcare facilities.

As of now, thermal blowers are being used in the city to ensure residents have access to drinking water, and work is ongoing to fill the heating system to restore water supply to residential buildings and social institutions. Boiler houses in medical facilities are operating on alternative fuels.

Repair crews are actively working, and all necessary services are engaged to restore heating as quickly as possible. The local authorities and regional administration, together with utility services, are doing everything possible to bring warmth back to the homes of Mykolaiv residents.
