In October, the Russian Federation deployed against Ukraine 2,023 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed type and unidentified drones. This became a record number for the current year.

This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

As mentioned above, during October, the Russian forces launched 2,023 strike UAVs, as well as unidentified drones. Among them:

  • 1,185 were destroyed or suppressed by the Ukrainian military;
  • 738 were lost location-wise;
  • 29 left the controlled airspace of our state.

Since the beginning of 2024, the enemy has used a total of 6,987 strike UAVs. Predominantly, the terrorists attacked civilian and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

"Thanks to the professionalism and skill of the servicemen of the Defense Forces, thousands of lives of our people were saved from Russian aerial terror, and hundreds of homes of Ukrainian citizens and important state facilities were protected from destruction," adds the General Staff.
