PepsiCo, in its advertising strategy in Ukraine, has prohibited mentioning the war. This information was reported by the global coalition of civic organizations B4Ukraine.
In the fall of 2023, during the search for a new PR agency in Ukraine, requirements were set, according to which references to the war were banned in PepsiCo's advertising activities.
Specifically, the restrictions included:
• Mention of war, combat actions, aggression, military personnel, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
• Expressing support for Ukraine or the Ukrainian army.
• Negative connotations creating a sense of "danger."
Meanwhile, PepsiCo continues to operate in the Russian market and pays taxes. According to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAZK), PepsiCo paid $115 million in taxes to the Russian budget. Additionally, the company has 20,000 employees and 40,000 agricultural workers in Russia.
Even with the formal cessation of the sale of Pepsi Cola, the company's main product, on Russian shelves, it is still possible to purchase this product through the so-called "parallel import."
Earlier, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) included the American companies PepsiCo and Mars in the list of international sponsors of the war.
