In the Odessa region, an official of the village council and the former head of one of the district administrations is suspected of abuse of office.
In the Podolsky district, the former head of the administration for seven months in 2017 entered false data into official documents. He did this to appropriate someone else's property.
This was reported in the press service of the National Police in the Odessa region.
Thanks to fraud, the official accrued additional payments to himself. In addition, he caused damage to the state in the amount of UAH 350 thousand.
His actions were qualified under the article "appropriation, embezzlement or appropriation of other people's property through abuse of official position by an official." The man faces five to eight years behind bars with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.
In addition to the ex-head of the district state administration, the police suspect the chief accountant of the education and culture department of one of the village councils of the Berezovsky district. The investigation found that she forged official documentation for six months in 2021. The woman did this so that she would receive double the salary.
She was charged with two articles of forgery and misappropriation, embezzlement, or taking possession of other people's property by abuse of official position by an official. She faces up to five years of restriction or imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.
Also Odessa has lost more than UAH 2 million due to the negligence of the mayor's office official. According to the investigation, while repairing the facade and roof of an educational institution in the Suvorov district of the city, the contractor documented false information about the cost of the work performed. In turn, the official accepted the falsified documents without checking them.
