For the eighth time since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, martial law and nationwide mobilization have been extended in Ukraine. On Thursday, August 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the corresponding laws.
The head of state signed Law No. 9533 on the extension of martial law and Law No. 9532 on the extension of the period for conducting general mobilization.
Martial law and mobilization in Ukraine have been extended for an additional 90 days. They will remain in effect at least until November 15, 2023.
It's worth noting that on July 26, the president submitted to the parliament a proposal to approve his decrees to extend the validity of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days.
On July 27, the parliamentarians approved the draft laws. 347 Members of Parliament voted in favor of adopting the law "On the Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine 'On the Continuation of Martial Law in Ukraine'" (registration number 9532)
