Over the course of a year, the number of objects destroyed as a result of the war in Ukraine has increased by 50,000.
This was reported by the Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, during the forum "Digitalization of Urban Planning in Ukraine. Current Status and Next Steps for Transparent Reconstruction."
"At the beginning of 2024, we recorded 280,000 destroyed objects. This figure has already increased to 330,000. So, in just one year, this horrifying trend has resulted in the destruction of 50,000 more objects," said the Vice Prime Minister.
He emphasized that Ukraine’s task is not only to rebuild what has been destroyed but to ensure that every decision and every reconstruction project is meaningful, logical, and considerate of people’s needs.
According to Kuleba, digitalization is the tool that enables the reconstruction process to be as clear, efficient, transparent, and accountable as possible at every stage—from planning the object, distributing resources, to monitoring project implementation.
Moreover, digitalization is an element of trust, both within the country and among international partners, which is crucial for mobilizing aid and investments.
