The film depicts events in Mariupol in February-March 2022. Specifically, it includes footage of Russian shelling and the bombing of a maternity hospital. The film "20 Days in Mariupol" by Mstislav Chernov, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Films of 2024, has been released online on the streaming platform Takflix.
This was reported by the platform's press service.
"20 Days in Mariupol" is a film that documented the war crimes of the Russians, thanks to the work of the Associated Press team: Mstislav Chernov, Evgeny Maloletka, and Vasilina Stepanenko. They were the last international journalists in the besieged Mariupol. Their footage became defining images of the war: mass burials, deaths, the bombed maternity hospital, and the appearance of a city beginning to disappear," the message reads.
"My brain desperately wants to forget all of this. But the camera won't allow it," Chernov, the director, is quoted as saying.
