Russian forces continued shelling Ukrainian territory yesterday, resulting in casualties, injuries to civilians, and destruction, according to data from regional military administrations.
In particular, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that a 76-year-old resident was killed by a Russian shell in the occupied village of Nove in the Polohy district, while a 53-year-old man was injured by artillery fire in the frontline town of Orihiv.
"234 strikes on 11 settlements were inflicted by the occupiers during the day... There were 27 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities," wrote Fedorov on Telegram.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported that due to Russian aggression in the region, one person was killed and two others were injured yesterday.
"The enemy shelled Chervonyi Mayak, Osokorivka, Lvove, Dudchany, Berislav, Sablukivka, Kachkarivka, Tokarivka, Ivanivka, Mykhailivka, Tyahynka, Yantarnoe, Ponyativka, Sadove, Havrylivka, Veletenske, Stanislav, Romashkove, Prydniprovskoe, Antonivka, Zelenivka, and the city of Kherson. Russian military targeted residential quarters of settlements in the region, damaging 12 high-rise buildings and 15 private houses," Prokudin wrote on Telegram.
According to him, in Kherson, hits on a cargo ship were recorded, cars were damaged, and as a result of shelling in settlements, a farm and an elevator were damaged.
The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported the death of one civilian (in Hirnyk) and the injury of five others.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synyehubov, stated that about 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling by Russia. As a result of these shelling incidents, buildings were damaged, but there were no casualties. However, on February 27, in Izium, a 42-year-old man was injured when a mine exploded while he was cleaning his land. He was taken to a medical facility with multiple injuries.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported that the Mirivska community in Nikopol region was under artillery fire during the night.
"The enemy fired dozens of shells at one of the villages. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and all targets remained intact. The enemy's attacks ceased around midnight, and there were no further attacks in the area afterwards. The region as a whole did not experience any more attacks," Lysak wrote.
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, reported that the air defense forces destroyed a Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drone during the night attack by Russia over the sea.
According to him, the invaders also attacked the Kutsurub, Ochakiv, and Chornomorska communities, but there were no casualties.
On the other hand, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, announced that Russian forces attacked Odessa with kamikaze drones overnight on February 28.
"During 1.5 hours, air defense units repelled this attack. Nine drones were shot down in the Odessa region. During maneuvers over the industrial zone of Odessa, debris from the downed drone damaged a transformer at one of the critical infrastructure facilities. There was a short circuit and a fire. Emergency services promptly extinguished the fire. There were no casualties," Kiper noted.
