In the Kharkiv region, a locally-produced demining machine will be in operation. Its prototype underwent four months of combat testing, during which it successfully neutralized over 300 anti-personnel mines. This information was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
"This marks the ninth demining machine to operate in the Kharkiv region, but it's the first one produced locally in Kharkiv," stated Oleg Synegubov, the head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
The machine incorporates mechanisms that make it easy to repair or replace any of its components, even in the event of running over an anti-tank mine and sustaining damage.
This Kharkiv-developed machine operates remotely from a safe distance of 300 meters, mitigating the risk of harm to personnel from potential debris. It boasts a total weight of 16 tons and operates at a speed of 3-4 km/h.
Furthermore, the machine is equipped with four cameras that aid in its operation and contribute to neutralizing 95% of all types of mines.
According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, operator training will continue for several weeks, after which the machine will be immediately deployed to one of the most heavily mined areas.
