The Ukrainian company Steel Hornets has produced incendiary munitions designed for release from UAVs.
These munitions can be used to ignite bunkers, ammunition depots, and equipment of the Russian occupying forces, according to the developers. If they hit the horizontal part of lightly armored vehicles, they can ignite them and cause fires. The burning temperature reaches up to 2500°C.
The manufacturer emphasizes that the munitions work more reliably when dropped from low altitudes. Depending on the technical specifications, their cost ranges from 400 to 1000 hryvnias per unit. The developers have also announced 500-gram munitions for drones like Mavic, but their price has not been specified yet.
The Ukrainian development was also commented on by Canadian expert DanielR on the X platform. The specialist pointed out an interesting feature of these munitions — they start burning immediately after being dropped from the UAV. They can be attached to large drones like Baba Yaga or FPV kamikaze drones, while the smallest ones can be carried by compact quadcopter drones.
