On March 8th, an agreement was signed in Istanbul between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the establishment of an electronic pre-information exchange system for goods and vehicles moving between the parties.
Over the past year, the State Customs Service has actively worked on preparing this Agreement and developing its technical specifications.
The signing of the Agreement took place during the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the Republic of Turkey.
Under the Agreement, the customs authorities of Ukraine and Turkey will create an electronic pre-information exchange system, through which the exchange of a predetermined set of data will be carried out in electronic form.
Information exchange will be carried out directly between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey.
The information received by the customs authorities of Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey will be used in the risk analysis system, which will facilitate the acceleration of the movement of goods and vehicles across the borders of both states, reduce the human factor, and counteract customs violations.
In the near future, the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey will begin the practical implementation of the Agreement by organizing information exchange in automatic mode.
