According to the SBU, the Russian occupier who shot an unarmed civilian in Sumy region was sentenced to life imprisonment
The Solomianskyi District Court made the relevant decision of Kyiv on May 23.
The indictment is based on the evidence gathered by SBU investigators. Including witness statements.
In February, this year, Vadim Shishimarin, commander of the 4th Pantemir Division of the Moscow Region, cynically killed a civilian in the Sumy region. Vadim Shishimarin is 21 years old. After his column was broken up by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Shishimarin drove to the village of Chupakhivka, Sumy Region, in a stolen car during a retreat with four colleagues. There, the occupiers saw an unarmed villager riding a bicycle along the roadside and talking on the phone.
Shishimarin fired several shots through the open window of a car with a Kalashnikov assault rifle at the head of a 62-year-old man. He died on the spot a few tens of meters from his own house
The open trial of the Russian military began on May 18. Shishimarin fully admitted his guilt, and on May 20 he delivered his last word at a regular meeting.
The occupier was found guilty under Art. 438 of the Criminal code of Ukraine - violation of laws and customs of war.
The SBU will continue to record and document crimes committed by the Russian occupation forces on our land.
