On the night of January 10, 2025, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 72 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of drone imitators. Air defense systems downed 33 drones, and 34 drone imitators were lost in specific locations, one of which flew towards Russia.

It is reported that the drones were launched from the directions of Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The airstrike was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 9:00 AM, the downing of 33 Shahed-type strike drones and other types of drones was confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, and Kherson regions.
Five hits (on businesses and utility buildings) were recorded in the frontline area in the northern part of Chernihiv region, with one civilian injured.
In Kyiv region, a drone hit a high-rise building, damaging the structure and two dozen cars. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.
