On the night of August 8 (from 8:30 PM on August 7), the Russian forces launched an air attack using 108 airborne attack means: 104 strike drones of the Shahed type, various types of drone simulators, and 4 high-speed (jet) drones from the directions of Shatalovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (occupied Crimea).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 AM, air defense had shot down or suppressed 82 aerial targets: 3 jet drones and 79 Shahed drones and various types of drone simulators across the north, south, east, and center of the country.
There were 26 drone hits recorded in 10 locations, as well as the fall of downed drone fragments in 8 locations.
