Air defense shot down 288 drones and three missiles out of 317 aerial targets

On the night of July 31 (from 6:00 PM on July 30), the Russian forces launched an air attack using 317 aerial weapons (309 drones, 8 cruise missiles):

  • 309 attack drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russia;
  • 8 Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Kursk region, Russia.

The main target of the strike was the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv!

The air attack was repelled by aviation, surface-to-air missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Preliminary data as of 9:00 AM shows that air defense and electronic warfare suppressed/destroyed 291 aerial weapons:

  • 288 attack drones;
  • 3 Iskander-K cruise missiles.

There were direct hits recorded from 5 missiles (one of which struck a residential building in Kyiv) and 21 attack drones across 12 locations, as well as debris from downed drones/missiles falling in 19 locations, almost all in the capital. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injured persons.
