Air defense shot down one Iskander missile and 62 drones launched by Russia in an overnight attack on Ukraine

On the night of August 20 (starting from 19:30 on August 19), the Russian forces launched an attack using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 93 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various decoy drones from several directions: Shatalovo, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (occupied Crimea).

The air raid was repelled by Ukrainian Air Force aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare systems, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, Ukrainian air defense shot down or neutralized one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 62 Shahed drones and various types of decoy UAVs in the north and east of the country.

Strikes from Russian missiles and drones were recorded at 20 locations.
