Russian forces today, February 13, attempted to strike Odessa with a missile. However, the Ukrainian air defense system managed to destroy the enemy target.
This was reported by the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"The enemy directed a guided aviation missile X-59 towards Odessa from aircraft of tactical aviation maneuvering over the Black Sea waters," the report said.
It is noted that the missile was shot down by the Air Defense Forces on approach from the sea to the city.
The debris from the downed missile damaged the under construction and glass of several multi-story buildings in the coastal area.
To ensure the safety of local residents, explosives experts are working at the debris site. No casualties have been reported.
