An Air Force spokesman said the air defenses had been reinforced with modern Western systems.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that the enemy will not massively use aviation on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of the country on February 24.

“Many experts are talking about some hundreds of aircraft. Well, it won’t happen. Nobody fights like that. This is not the Second World War,” said Yury Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The speaker explained that forty Russian airfields are located at different distances from the border with Ukraine. The Russian aviation grouping at the airfields at the beginning of the aggression remains approximately the same in number, and the lost equipment is being supplemented.

"Therefore, if we talk about a massive attack on Kyiv by hundreds of aircraft, this will not happen," he said.

Ignat explained that the air defense was reinforced with modern Western systems.
