Today in the Black Sea near Alupka, the BDK-64 "Caesar Kunikov" was destroyed, a fact that has already been officially confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Military expert Aleksandr Kovalenko discussed the characteristics of this ship and explained why its destruction is so significant.

"The BDK "Caesar Kunikov," which had an incident this morning near Alupka, belongs to the BDK project 775.

It was commissioned in 1986 and was built in Poland at the "Stocznia Polnocna" shipyard in Gdansk.

Its full displacement is 4,000 tons, and it has a crew of 87 people.

These ships have recently been primarily used for transportation in the logistics chains of the Russian Navy, but they also have amphibious functionality, carrying 12 units of armored vehicles and up to 340 personnel.

Therefore, the question arises: at the time of the incident, was the Caesar Kunikov loaded, and if so, with what cargo? Alternatively, was it sailing empty? Regardless, the incident is significant.

After all, in Russia, no shipyard can build or even fully repair these ships."
