Audit by the Ministry of Defense revealed nearly 30,000 new high-quality medical turnstiles, SOF production of the USA, stored in one of the storage facilities of a military unit subordinate to the command of the Medical Forces in Zhytomyr region.

The Ministry of Defense reported that these turnstile tourniquets were received as early as April 2023, and it took six months for the military unit to issue the first batch to servicemen, totaling only 458 units.

After the audit, responsible officials started issuing the tourniquets, and currently, almost a third of them are already in the possession of military personnel.

Initiatives have also been launched to issue other medical equipment (individual first aid kits, backpacks for combat medics), which have been stored in significant quantities in warehouses for a long time.

"The task of the internal audit of the Ministry of Defense is not only to identify cases of abuse and react to them but also to prevent the inefficient use of military resources. Through more efficient planning, enhanced accountability, and solidarity at all levels of decision-making," commented Deputy Minister of Defense Yuriy Dzhigir.
