The government has adopted a resolution on a pilot project that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is developing jointly with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Customs Service.
It will be possible to submit the necessary documents, pay the customs duty and complete the customs clearance of the vehicle online. Everything is as convenient as possible, simple, and without any corruption.
One of the most common categories of vehicles, which are most often imported into the customs territory of Ukraine, was selected for the project implementation - HTS Code 8703. These are motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons, incl. station wagons and racing cars (excluding motor vehicles of heading 8702).
For tens of thousands of Ukrainians, importing cars often created unnecessary restrictions, inconveniences, and delays. Thanks to this resolution, it will be possible to reduce corruption risks during car customs clearance significantly, and the human factor in this process - to eliminate as much as possible.
According to the resolution, it will be possible:
- Carry out customs clearance by submitting a preliminary customs declaration, a general declaration of arrival in oral form;
- submit documents in electronic form in Diia;
- pay customs duties in Diia within ten days; complete customs clearance automatically.
The pilot project will amend the Customs and Tax Codes of Ukraine, which will allow customs clearance through the Action and other modes of transport.
The project is supported by the USAID / UK aid project "Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services / TAPAS" and the Office of Simple Solutions and Results.
