The information from The Guardian about the plans of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to destroy the Crimean Bridge in the first half of 2024 is not new. This is a military target that needs to be "neutralized."
This was reported by a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, in a telethon broadcast.
Responding to whether such articles harm the Main Intelligence Directorate's plans, Yusov noted that:
"The Guardian certainly has its sources, and lately, there have been many materials with quite loud headlines coming out in the West that refer to one source or another."
At the same time, the Main Intelligence Directorate representative considers commenting on anonymous information "not always appropriate."
"When it comes to public communication, I can assure you that information is provided when necessary. As for this structure - the bridge, there have already been numerous communications and statements on this matter from Ukrainian representatives of the security and defense sector. The head of the Security Service of Ukraine commented on this situation. And ultimately, we can state that the Russians constantly report upwards, informing the Kremlin that this time all security measures have been taken precisely," Yusov said.
He added that it is unlikely to scare the occupiers with this information.
"But the fact that all military targets, and this illegal object - the bridge, are military targets subject to neutralization - this is not new information. There is nothing new here," emphasized the Main Intelligence Directorate representative.
The British publication The Guardian published an article stating that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is preparing a third strike on the Crimean Bridge, which connects the territory of Russia with the occupied Crimea.
High-ranking representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate told the publication that the destruction of the bridge is "inevitable."
