In the Russian Federation, the 155th Marine Brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet complained about huge losses in the Donbas. As it turned out, they tried to scare the Ukrainian defenders, but they failed. The Russian troops fell into the trap of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As Aleksey Arestovich, the adviser to the President's Office, told in an interview with Russian lawyer Mark Feygin. "This brigade was previously involved in Mariupol, where it very much âraked outâ from the defenders of the Ukrainian city. After that, it was "rolled back" - Russians replenished her combat capability."
"Now, according to sources, the unit has from 30% to 70% of irretrievable losses. After the offensive in the Donbas, the Russians said that more soldiers died in the brigade than in the first Chechnya. And in the first Chechnya, 63 people died killed. Well, if there are more, then At least 64. But since then, another five days have passed, and they wrote a joint letter to the governor, saying, "deal with our generals," and this is not a good sign for any army," Arestovich said.
According to him, two days later, the Russian fighters received a response from the governor, who pointed out that "the losses are exaggerated, we are just attacking hard."
"And what is the essence of the offensive? In the beginning, they (the Russians) jumped over our first positions with joy, expecting that Ukrainians would falter and run, but Ukrainians did not falter and did not run! Therefore, they jumped closer to Pavlovka, and all the supply and removal of the wounded and everything else goes in the corridor from our two landings," Arestovich said.
Russian casualties near Pavlovka now number in the hundreds, he added.
