During the past night, the Air Defense Forces shot down 9 "Shahed-136" drones in the Odessa region. Simultaneously, one of the enemy drones crashed in a residential quarter, causing a man's death due to the explosion.
This information was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper.
It is noted that one of the downed drones fell in a residential area in the Odessa district and exploded. This resulted in the destruction with subsequent ignition of residential private houses and a private sports facility warehouse.
"Rescuers promptly extinguished the fire. A deceased person was found in one of the buildings. I express sincere condolences to the family and loved ones...", wrote Kiper.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Southern Defense Forces, the enemy terrorized southern regions with a drone attack throughout the night, lasting for 5 hours.
In the command's responsibility zone, air defense units shot down 16 UAVs of the "Shahed-131/136" type launched by occupiers from Crimea. Seven kamikaze drones were downed in the Kherson region, and nine in the Odessa region.
"During the combat operation, one of the targeted drones crashed into a private residential building in the Odessa district and exploded. The explosion damaged surrounding houses, a hangar with property belonging to a private sports facility. A massive fire broke out, which firefighters promptly extinguished. At the scene, one deceased man was found," the statement said.
