Russia has returned the bodies of 252 deceased individuals to Ukraine following repatriation efforts. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. According to the Russian side, the bodies belong to Ukrainian servicemen.

The repatriation was made possible through the joint efforts of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Centre under the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service and other institutions within Ukraine's security and defence sector.

Law enforcement investigators, together with representatives of forensic institutions, will carry out all necessary procedures to identify the repatriated remains.

The Coordination Headquarters expressed its gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance.

"Special thanks go to the personnel of the Joint Centre for Civil-Military Cooperation Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who transport the repatriated remains to specialised state institutions and organise the transfer of the bodies of the fallen to law enforcement representatives within the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical experts within the Ministry of Health. We also thank representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's civil-military cooperation units, who provide overall coordination," the Coordination Headquarters stated.
