At least 724 children have been affected by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, of which 261 have died, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
"More than 724 children suffered in Ukraine due to the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of June 3, 2022, the official number of child victims per day has not changed - 261. The number of injured has increased - 463," the report says.
Children suffered the most, as noted, in the Donetsk region - 187, Kyiv - 116, Kharkiv - 112, Chernihiv - 68, Luhansk - 52, Kherson - 52, Mykolaiv - 47, Zaporizhzhia - 29, Sumy - 17, in the city of Kyiv - 16, Zhytomyr - 15.
These figures are not final, since work is underway to establish them in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
So, in fixing criminal offenses, it became known about the wounding of three children in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region.
Due to the constant bombing and shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 1,938 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 182 of them were completely destroyed, the Office of the Prosecutor General indicated.
