Attack on Kyiv: the death toll rises to 28, with 156 injured

In Kyiv, the death toll from Russia’s combined attack on July 31 has risen to 28 people.

This was reported on Telegram by Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

“Rescuers have uncovered the body of another person from the rubble. The death toll has risen to 28,” he wrote.

 

At 7:52 a.m., he had reported that the number of people killed by Russians the previous day had risen to 27.

Earlier, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that

“Russia killed 27 people in Kyiv on the night of July 31, including 3 children.”

 

A total of 159 people were injured, including 16 children. Emergency rescue operations continue in the Sviatoshynskyi district. Rescuers have so far cleared 70% of the destroyed building structures.

August 1 has been declared a day of mourning in the capital.
