In the near future, Ukraine will receive transformers and solar panels from Japanese partners. This was discussed during a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Energy, Yaroslav Demchenkov, and Svitlana Hrynchuk, with representatives of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) led by Vice President Naoki Ando.
Mr. Naoki assured that Japan would continue to support Ukraine's energy sector and announced deliveries of transformers and solar panels to Ukraine in the coming months.
Yaroslav Demchenkov expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for the support provided to the Ukrainian energy sector and emphasized its importance in ensuring a stable energy supply during the winter, especially in the face of hostile attacks on energy infrastructure.
Svitlana Hrynchuk noted that Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with JICA to enhance the physical protection of energy facilities. She also proposed that JICA representatives participate in the work within the electronic AidEnergy system, which allows for online monitoring of the current needs of Ukrainian energy companies and the provision of timely assistance.
Naoki Ando emphasized the critical importance of energy security, stating that approximately 40% of the assistance provided by the Japanese side to Ukraine is directed towards supporting the country's energy sector.
