The authorities of Bolivia have announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Israel due to the ongoing Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, as reported by Reuters.
As stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani during a press conference, Bolivia made this decision as a "gesture of rejection and condemnation of the aggressive and disproportionate Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip."
Two other South American countries, Chile and Colombia, have declared the recall of their ambassadors from Israel for consultations. All three countries have called for a ceasefire, and the authorities of Bolivia and Chile have emphasized the need to provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. They have also accused Israel of violating international law.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet commented on the recall of the ambassadors from Chile and Colombia or Bolivia's announcement of the severance of diplomatic relations.
