Britain invests £4.5 billion (approximately $5.7 billion) in drones for its armed forces.
This was reported by Sky News.
The decision was made based on lessons learned from the war in Ukraine.
It is noted that the strategy for the use of drones will involve all units of the British armed forces experimenting with unmanned systems, testing and evaluating their effectiveness.
"The conflict in Ukraine has been an incubator for new ways of war and we need to learn and implement those hard-fought lessons. Rapidly being able to develop and upgrade uncrewed systems will be key to gaining battlefield advantage... Ultimately, this is about learning the lessons from the Ukrainian frontline," said Minister for Defence Procurement James Cartlidge."
