The freezing of the ground is likely to improve conditions for cross-country movement over the next months, according to information from British intelligence.
As explained by intelligence, Ukraine is currently experiencing freezing weather. A slight warming is expected next week; however, the ground will remain frozen.
Frozen ground is likely to enhance conditions for cross-country movement during January and February until the thaw in March. The thaw, in turn, will lead to a deterioration of the aforementioned conditions.
In particular, an increase in snow cover is observed in Ukraine, and its depth is a limiting factor for maneuverability.
"The worsening conditions will be compounded by shortened daylight hours making operating conditions difficult for both sides, which will have to rely on cold weather and night-vision equipment to operate," explains the intelligence report.
