Russia likely relocated airborne troops from the Kherson region to the Orikhiv district of Zaporizhzhia region, where fierce battles are taking place.

This was stated in a reconnaissance report by the Ministry of Defence of Britain on Saturday.

In this area, the 58th combined-arms army of the RF has been engaged in combat operations against Ukrainian forces since June 4, 2023.

The intelligence report recalled that on July 11, the then-commander of the 58th combined-arms army was dismissed, possibly in part because he insisted on the need to withdraw some of his forces.

Reports indicate that the 70th and 71st motorized rifle regiments have encountered particularly intense exhaustion of personnel and heavy fighting on the front lines.

The Ministry of Defence of Britain considers it a real possibility that the arrival of paratroopers will finally allow the withdrawal of units from these regiments for recovery.

However, the redeployment is likely to weaken the Russian defense on the eastern bank of the Dniepr River, where it is increasingly facing pressure from Ukrainian airborne raids.
