Recently, the number of casualties in the Russian army in the war in Ukraine reached 500,000. Apparently, the Russian forces receive limited training before being sent to the front lines, according to the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom.
It is noted that in 2024, Russian losses remain at a high level. However, in May, the average losses of Russian personnel exceeded 1,200 individuals per day, which is the highest figure since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Large losses, analysts believe, may indicate Russia's current advance on all fronts. Moreover, it is quite likely that most Russian forces undergo only limited training and are unable to conduct complex offensive operations.
"As a result, Russia resorts to small but costly wave attacks, attempting to weaken Ukrainian defenses. Russia continues to recruit additional forces to support this approach. However, the need to constantly replenish personnel on the front lines will likely limit Russia's ability to create units of greater potential," intelligence analysts believe.
