Last week, ground battles in Ukraine continued to be characterized either by a static front line or very gradual local advances by Russian forces in key areas.
This information comes from the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom on Twitter.
As emphasized in the summary, in the north, near Kupyansk, the western group of Russian forces continues a large-scale but unsuccessful offensive operation.
Additionally, in the north of Donetsk region, Ukraine has maintained a stable front line despite minor Russian attacks in the Bakhmut area.
According to British intelligence, active fighting continues around Avdiivka, while Russian forces have solidified the gains made at the end of December 2023 around Maryinka, where they have finally advanced to the western outskirts of the city after nine years of fighting in this region.
"In the south of Ukraine, Russian airborne forces, most likely, have made minimal progress in a new attempt to dislodge the Ukrainian bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River near the village of Krynky," the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom noted.
