The United Arab Emirates assisted in organizing the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia, which took place on February 8.
This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov.
According to Budanov, 100 people returned from Russian captivity to Ukraine. The exchange itself was slightly delayed, but, in his opinion, the important thing is the result - Ukrainians are back home.
He noted that exchanges of prisoners are taking place despite statements from the Russian side about their suspension.
"As for how this is achieved, you won't get an answer until all the prisoners are returned," said the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
At the same time, he mentioned that in today's exchange, Ukraine was assisted by partner countries.
"We always have several friends who help us. Today, these are representatives of the UAE. Today's exchange was directly facilitated with their assistance," Budanov said.
Reminder: On February 8, Ukraine conducted another exchange of prisoners with the Russian Federation. As a result, 100 defenders returned home.
And the previous exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine took place on January 31. During it, 207 Ukrainians returned to their homeland.
