Vuhledar, which was previously advantageous for defense due to its elevated position, has suffered significant destruction from active strikes by Russian guided aerial bombs (GABs). As a result, the enemy managed to advance on the flanks of Ukrainian defenses.
This was stated by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, in his post on Telegram.
"Vuhledar. It was previously easy to defend because of its high ground. But with the active use of GABs on the front, the enemy managed to destroy it and advance on the flanks," he said.
According to him, the use of GABs and aviation is the only factor allowing enemy infantry to move forward.
Earlier, Deep State analysts noted that the Russian army is attempting to encircle Vuhledar. They emphasized the worsening situation around the city, as the absence of rotation for the 72nd Mechanized Brigade forced the command to involve reserves from the Territorial Defense Forces, which were unable to hold back the enemy's assault. This compelled the assault battalion to widen the defensive line in the combat zone.
