Russia has prepared plans to destabilize the situation in Moldova, including influencing the presidential elections.

This was stated by the head of Moldova's Information and Security Service (SIS), Alexandru Mustata Reuters reported.

According to him, the Information and Security Service intercepted a record level of activity by Russian special services in 2023 and expects new destabilizing actions this and next year.

Musteata specified that Russian special services want to interfere in the electoral processes.

"We have information that attempts are being made to disrupt the referendum on European integration, interfere in the presidential elections, as well as discredit government institutions and politicians who support Moldova's accession to the European Union," the intelligence chief said.

Recall that earlier information appeared on the network that deputies of the so-called "Transnistrian Moldovan Republic" will ask Russian dictator Vladimir Putin for entry into Russia.

Such rumors were not confirmed - deputies asked Moscow only for "protection" from Moldova.

Later, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusev, said that such a result did not meet the expectations of the Kremlin.
