In the Pokrovsk direction, Autostrada has become the only civilian infrastructure company building protective structures using anti-drone nets—a task previously handled solely by the military. Thanks to streamlined processes, in-house production, and a modern fleet of equipment, the company’s specialists can install nearly 500 meters of netting per day, completing projects three times faster than traditional methods.

The initiative is critical for protecting logistical routes that carry military convoys, evacuation transport, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid. Each meter of fortified road increases the chances of saving lives while ensuring uninterrupted supply lines to the frontline. The structures effectively block drone attacks, including FPV drones and kamikaze drones.

Several specialized teams work simultaneously on-site. Barrier teams install metal channels that serve as framework supports, while road crews attach profile pipes, stretch wires, and mount the netting. To maintain efficiency amid active traffic, a separate team prepares large net sections and assembles structural elements off-site before installation.

Safety is a priority. Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams inspect road shoulders, and work only begins after demining certificates are issued. The working zone is restricted to five meters from the asphalt edge due to mine risks, effectively placing crews in a “kill zone” under constant threat of shelling. Reconnaissance drones hover overhead while guided bombs and Lancets strike nearby, yet operations continue.

Autostrada also fortifies first- and second-level energy infrastructure facilities in high-risk zones. While locations and technical details are undisclosed for security reasons, it is known that these critical facilities have already endured direct hits. Completed protection systems have repeatedly proven their effectiveness, preventing severe damage during strikes.

The company operates under constant danger, often under targeted fire. During air raid alerts, personnel and equipment are swiftly evacuated to minimize risks. Every meter of netting installed contributes not only to the security of infrastructure but ultimately to saving lives on the frontline.
