The exhibition “Contra Spem Spero. Stories from Ukraine” opens in Palermo, Italy on December 16, 2023.
It shows documentary stories and photo diaries about the war by Ukrainian artists: Gera Artemova, Kateryna Aleksieienko, Liubov Durakova, Nazar Furyk, Alena Grom, Serhiy Korovainyi, Mykhaylo Palinchak, Volodymyr Petrov, Elena Subach, Pavlo Dorohoi, Dima Tolkachov.
Curated by Kateryna Radchenko.
The exhibition is organized in collaboration between the German Missions in Italy and Odesa Photo Days Festival, together with the European Parliament’s (Parlamento europeo in Italia) and European Commission’s (Commissione europea – Rappresentanza in Italia) Representations in Italy, the Embassy of Spain in Italy (Embajada de España en Italia - Ambasciata di Spagna in Italia), the Embassy of Sweden in Italy (Ambasciata di Svezia in Italia - Embassy of Sweden in Italy), and the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Palermo and with the patronage of the City of Palermo.
