Russian "civil organizations" operating on social media are luring relatives of Ukrainian prisoners of war and disappeared defenders to obtain official documents and sensitive personal information for further manipulation and pressure purposes.

This was stated by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on Telegram.

"Russian intelligence services have created so-called 'civil organizations' that spread information on the internet about prisoners of war and claim to have access to places of detention," the statement reads.

Thus, Russian special services obtain crucial information for manipulating and pressuring the families of prisoners: extracts from official investigations, personal data, photos of comrades, and more.

The Coordination Headquarters urges families not to provide personal documents or any information about their relatives held in Russian captivity to unknown individuals or "organizations."
