Croatian demining vehicle manufacturer DOK-ING has increased the localization of its production in Ukraine to 30% and plans to raise this to 50% by 2026 by producing armored vehicle bodies and other components locally. The company shared these plans on the first anniversary of its Ukrainian office.
Together with A3Tech, DOK-ING has launched production of spare parts, repair, and assembly of vehicles. Currently, a full repair and maintenance cycle is operational. In 2024, eight demining vehicles were assembled in Ukraine, and 3,600 spare parts required for maintenance and repairs were supplied.
“Producing components in Ukraine significantly accelerates vehicle servicing and repairs. This means machines can return to the field faster instead of sitting idle for weeks in maintenance. It also saves state funds. According to A3Tech calculations, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) and the State Service for Special Transport (DSST) saved over 7 million hryvnias on components made by Ukrainian manufacturers compared to purchasing them directly from Croatia,” said Ihor Bezkharavayny, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
Investments in the Ukrainian office over the past year went toward creating 72 jobs, setting up assembly and service lines, and training over 300 DOK-ING vehicle operators.
Currently, 69 DOK-ING machines operate across 10 regions of Ukraine. They have cleared more than 25 million m² of territory and neutralized over 10,000 explosive devices, including in Donetsk, Chernihiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Odessa regions.
