The Czech Ministry of Defense is preparing to launch a new initiative to supply artillery ammunition to Ukraine for 2025, involving Czech manufacturers.

According to an Deník N interview with Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová, the project, tentatively named "Initiative-2025," will include five Czech arms companies producing ammunition for Ukraine, funded by European donors.

The participating companies are:

  • Czechoslovak Group
  • STV Group
  • Omnipol from Ompo Holding
  • Colt CZ Group SE, owned by Česká zbrojovka
  • DSS

Černochová noted that this initiative builds on an existing mechanism and emphasized that early donor funding would expedite the signing of long-term contracts with these companies.

The Czech Ministry of Defense’s intergovernmental defense cooperation agency is currently gathering information on what these companies can supply to Ukraine next year. Prague will act as a mediator between European donor countries and the companies, with expected donors including Denmark, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Discussions about financial support are anticipated to begin by late summer.
