The T-72 tanks transferred by the Czech Republic replenished the composition of the Ukrainian mechanized units operating on the southern front between Kherson and Mykolaiv.
It is reported by the National Center for Housing and Human Resources with reference to the IDnes portal.
Before their introduction into battle, the vehicles were slightly modified. T-72s were supplied with original armor, engine, tracking and aiming equipment, and a cannon. Ukrainian engineers installed dynamic armor on the hull and turret. It does not act against the incoming projectile from the front but from above or below, which causes more damage. The vehicles have also been given a new camouflage pattern suitable for fighting in the south, and the gun barrel has been marked in yellow as a hallmark of allied forces in the area.
T-72 tanks were delivered from the Czech Republic and are part of the Ukrainian tank units that are fighting for the liberation of the important city of Kherson in southern Ukraine. According to reports directly from the front, former Czech vehicles for Ukrainian tankers are being transferred very intensively.
