According to him, the front line was significantly reduced after the withdrawal of Russian troops, and the invaders were beginning to accumulate forces on the left bank of the Kherson region.
After the liberation of Kherson, the war entered a new phase. The de-occupation of part of the Kherson region has become beneficial for both the Russian troops and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As David Sharp, a military observer from Israel, noted on the air of Apostrophe TV, now it is important for Ukraine to use the freed forces competently.
In his opinion, the Russians made a colossal mistake for themselves, trying to hold the right-bank Kherson region.
"In a good way, they had to leave from there in the spring, or at least in the summer, when the crossings were under attack and the supply of Kherson was significantly complicated. The maintenance of this city was very expensive for them both strategically and in terms of losses of manpower," - emphasized the expert.
However, after the withdrawal of Russian troops, the front line was significantly reduced, and the invaders began to accumulate forces on the left bank of the Kherson region.
At the same time, Ukraine's hands were also somewhat untied, and huge forces and firepower were released, which put pressure on the Kherson bridgehead.
âWe are moving into a phase where the Russian army does not have an openly vulnerable spot. And now, it is crucial who will take advantage of the liberated forces that have left Kherson. And this is a key moment, this is some kind of new stage in the war, although in hindsight it may turn out that everything goes on as before, and does not differ much from what it was before," Sharp concluded.
