Days of Poland will take place on June 21-24, 2021 in Odessa. For four days, Odessans and the guests of the city will be able to take part in a series of events presenting Polish culture, history and opportunities of modern Poland.


This project is implemented by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa with the support of the Foreign Branch of the Polish Tourist Organisation in Kyiv and "KredoBank", as well as in cooperation with the National Cultural Society of Poles "Polish Note", Odessa Adam Mickiewicz branch of the Union of Poles in Ukraine and the Odessa National Scientific Library.

The project is aimed to unite Poles and people of Polish descent living in Odessa and Southern Ukraine.

The link that will connect the various events of this year's Days of Poland will be the figure of General Mariusz Zaruski - a great Pole, patriot, educator of youth, who was named "the general of the mountains and seas". Mariusz Zaruski was born in Podillia, lived and studied in Odessa, where his love for the sea and navigation was born. This quest will be dedicated to the city game "Life in Odessa. By the footsteps of Mariusz Zaruski ”, which will be attended by more than 100 people, mostly young people from Polish organizations in the Odessa region.

On this occasion, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa together with the Gdansk branch of the Institute of National Memory has prepared an exhibition in the Ukrainian language, which will be presented in the building of the Odessa National Scientific Library.

The Green Theater will also host the premiere of the biographical film "Mariusz Zaruski. Patriot in love with the sea", created by Adam Mickiewicz branch of the Union of Poles in Ukraine.

During the Days of Poland, in cooperation with the Odessa National Scientific Library, the next stage of the Polish Shelf project will also be implemented. As part of the project, more than 1,200 books by Polish authors in Polish and in Ukrainian translations will be included in 26 libraries in different regions of Ukraine.

An exhibition dedicated to the outstanding Pole Mariusz Zaruski, public figure, photographer, artist, poet and writer, sailor and traveler, climber and rescuer who lived and studied in Odessa will open on June 23 at 11:00. The photo project "Mariusz Zaruski" was prepared on the basis of archival photo documents of the Institute of National Memory of the Republic of Poland and is exhibited under the auspices of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa. Exhibits on the themes "Childhood and youth", "First love - the Black Sea" and much more await visitors at this exhibition which was prepared by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa together with the Gdansk branch of the Institute of National Memory of Poland.

On June 22, the Green Theater will host concerts by Polish music groups, needlework workshops, games and entertainment for the whole family. There will also be an opportunity to win interesting prizes in competitions and quizzes dedicated to Poland. In addition, you can see a wonderful exhibition that will present the tourist attractions and cultural gems of Poland.

During the Days of Poland and at the same time as part of the international festival "June-Folk-Fest" on June 24 in Odessa will perform Karolina Cicha - multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer, fascinated by the traditional music of national minorities in Northeastern Poland.

In 2015, she was officially selected for WOMEX - the world's largest festival of ethnic music. With her music, she has attended dozens of festivals in Europe, Asia and America. Together with the Company, she won the Grand Prix and the Audience Award at the folklore festival of the Polish Radio New Tradition.
