Death toll rises to nine in October 9 attack on Odessa region port infrastructure

Russian forces struck the port infrastructure of the Odessa region with ballistic missiles on Wednesday, October 9. As a result of the hostile attack, 9 people were killed, reported Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the number of victims from the Russian missile strike on the port infrastructure of Odessa region has risen to nine. On the morning of October 11, a 48-year-old man died in the hospital.

“In just two days, Russian forces killed 13 civilians in Odessa, most of whom were young people,” Kiper emphasized.

Yesterday, the consequences of the attack were reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, and Oleg Kiper.

"Five dead and nine injured – the aftermath of yet another attack by Russian terrorists using ballistic missiles on the port infrastructure of Odesa. All the injured are Ukrainians. They are currently receiving medical assistance, and five of them are in serious condition," Kuleba noted.

He also mentioned that a civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag, the container ship Shui Spirit, was damaged during the attack. The minister added that this is the third foreign vessel attacked by Russia in the last four days.
